Mame Arcade Cabinet Plans Pdf
i think you missed the point. An arcade cabinet is generally designed and builded to play vintage arcade games, so seeking for power and rendering stuff in teh cabinet is quite vain. A ten years ago PC is almost enough to play everything. In this case, the bordelands design is just for the visual identity and attractivity.
Hi Mike,The cabinet is the same height as the plans (1.6m). When I first cut the sides I thought it looked too short, but once finished it's just right. The art work is on sticky backed vinyl, so it's easy enough to stick on. It's lining it up that takes the time. I got mine from here: -adhesive-vinylYou don't need to cover it with anything, the vinyl has a nice shiny finish.Good luck with you build.
Your cab looks great! What are these plastic strips to hold the plexi glass (bezel)? I'm working on an own cab (www.klomp.de/index.php/arcade-cabinet-selber-bauen) and I'm planning to fix the bezel with Velcro strips - but maybe the plastics strips are giving a better finish.
Dude this is one of the best cabinets I have ever seen. Very well done, and my hats off to you sir. I myself am starting the planning phase of my arcade machine build for my house. Your page here has given me some great ideas, and inspiration. When I get mine done, probably a whole year with my schedule, I will post what I got. ^_^
Wow! That's really awesome! I'd love to build an arcade cabinet and hpefully i will do so in a couple of years. At the moment and as a student who lives at home i dont really have the time or the money to do so but it would sure be a nice project to work with in the future!
Hi Steve, I came across your blog when I started researching building a cabinet. Really like what you have done and it has helped give me inspiration. I am looking at using the same plans but might mix in the control panel from the other panel Koenigs brother did. One quick question, the 'T' moulding you used was that 3/4 inch from ArcadeWorldUK? as the MDF was 18mm and 3/4 inch is about 18.75mm. Thanks
Hey Steve great build! I am using it as an example for my current cabinet project however I noticed after looking at the build plans that the top of the arcade comes out to about 5'4 . I am 6'2 and am worried the cabinet will be too small for myself and friends. Do you think taller people would have a hard time playing this cabinet?
Hi mate! Fantastic work! Absolute genius work.To almost follow up on nicks point, me ( and mainly my dad) started building our own arcade machine roughly using your plans. At first I opted not to go for t-moulding as I'm not much of a builder and felt I could ruin what I already have. After painting the whole thing, I feel t moulding is a must. Is there any recommendations on how I could do the slots for it without taking it all to pieces? Thanks in advancedPaul
Hello Steve! Great job there, very inspiring! So I am starting to build my cabinet according to the same plans. Can you please explain in simple steps how to make the curves to the mdf? Where do you place the centre of the circle to start drawing it and be enough precise to touch the sides? This may sound stupid but I really dont get it..Thx in advance
Hi, What a great build, attention to detail and working it all out is very impressive.Im a 3rd of the way through my build, I`m using a X arcade Tankstick with mine and reluctantly chopping off the sides so it fits nicely as im no good with electrics and coloured blind.Still deciding on either a Mortal Kombat theme or just retro characters.I will post my completed cabinet.Again great job, take care and have lots of fun. 2ff7e9595c
